CREW’s Letter Urging Amendment to National Defense Authorization Act in Congressional Record

On August 15, 2011 CREW and a coalition of organizations sent a letter to members of the Senate urging them to support an amendment offered by Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) to fix an over-broad and ill-defined provision relating to "critical infrastructure information," in Section 1044 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that could prevent the public from having access to critical health and security information. On November 18, 2011, Sen. Leahy offered his amendment to the NDAA, and the letter was included in the Congressional Record.
